Alyssa Valdez and the Lady Eagles will look to start another winning streak after their 24-game run came to an end.
For Alyssa Valdez and the Ateneo Lady Eagles, the De La Salle game is over and done with and the two-time defending champions are moving on.
After Ateneo's reign of terror in the UAAP came to a screeching halt at the hands of the rival Lady Spikers in straight sets, the outgoing Queen Eagle is seeing an opportunity for her young team to be even better.
"We really hope that its a good learning experience for the team," Valdez told reporters after the game. "Extra motivation and inspiration to train hard, to be at our best every time."
And as their 24-game winning streak dating back to Season 76 likewise ended, Valdez added that maybe it was meant to be.
"If we are not going to experience somehing like this, how can we manage to get up again. There is a reason naman on everything," she said.
With seven games left in their elimination round, it is time to simply build another winning run and go after a third straight championship.
"It was a good run but siguro it really had to stop. Try to make another one," Valdez said.
