It's a football-filled Sunday as three UAAP Season 78 Men's football matches are set to take place at the McKinley Hill stadium.
In the first match of the afternoon, two squads loworld,ok to bounce back from recent losses as National University takes on Ateneo.
After starting Season 78 with a couple of wins and an draw against FEU, the Bulldogs seemed like they had all the momentum in the world, until their impressive run was halted by a surging UST squad.
Also looking to rebound is an Ateneo team that has lost three of their first four outings. After picking up their first win against Adamson, the Blue Eagles dropped back down after losing to UP earlier this week.
In the second match of the afrernoon, cellar-dwelling University of the East hopes to get their first win of the season against one of the league's top teams in De La Salle University.
The only team that has yet to taste victory this season, UE remains at the bottom of the standings with only a draw and three losses to their name. Their lone draw, which came against UST, seemed to be a confidence-boosting result, but they instead dropped their next two matches, most recently to Adamson.
With an impressive four game start that saw them pick up three wins and a draw, the Green Archers are on track for another first seed finish. With big wins over UP and defending champions FEU, DLSU remains a tough out for any team this season.
In the final match of the day, two teams with a ton of momentum go head to head as the UP Fighting Maroons take on the Adamson Falcons.
After a slow start to the season, it looks as though the Maroons have found their stride. The Maroons, who are adjusting to life without a main scorer, have scored wins in their last two outings against UE and Ateneo.
Adamson on the other hand, scored their first win since reinstating their football program last season. With the first win of the season, expect the young Falcons to be hungrier and even more motivated.
