Pons stars as Lady Tamaraws pounce on limping Lady Bulldogs

The FEU Lady Tamaraws made quick work of NU to bounce back from their shocking loss to Adamson.
No meltdown on the part of FEU this time.
The Lady Tamaraws learned their lesson and finished the job quickly against National University with a 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 victory in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball tournament at the San Juan Arena Sunday.
After going up 2-0 before eventually losing to Adamson last Wednesday, the Lady Tamaraws made sure no such thing would happen against a staggered NU side.
FEU jumped on the Lady Bulldogs to start the game and never eased up as the Morayta-based squad finished round 1 with a 4-3 record for third place.
"Nagbunga lang yung medyo naging hard yung training namin after nung pagkatalo sa Adamson and we're so happy na nanalo kami in three sets," head coach Shaq Delos Santos said.
Bernadeth Pons continues to find her groove this season as she finished with 18 points, all on attacks, to lead the Lady Tamaraws. Toni Rose Basas added 16.
FEU had all the answers for the Lady Bulldogs this time around as the Lady Tamaraws avoided another disappointing defeat.
The Lady Bulldogs got close in the third set but back-to-back hits by Jerrili Malabanan restored order for FEU, 23-20.
A Jeanette Villareal quick sent NU crashing to its second straight loss.
Jaja Santiago and Jasmine Nabor each scored 12 points for the now 3-3 Lady Bulldogs.
