UST Tigresses clinch No. 2 seed in UAAP softball
UST will face NU again in the Final Four of UAAP 78 women's softball on Monday.

Riding on the momentum of its shock win against defending champion Adamson, University of Santo Tomas blanked National University, 6-0, to claim the remaining twice-to-beat slot in the Final Four Saturday in the UAAP softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Coming off a 6-2 win that ended the Lady Falcons' historic 73-game winning run, the Tigresses simply played inspired to frustrate the Lady Bulldogs.

UST needs to repeat against NU in the Final Four at 11 a.m. Monday to secure a spot in the best-of-three championship series.

The other semis pairing pits top ranked Adamson University and No. 4 University of the Philippines in a rematch of last season's Finals.

Settling for a twice-to-beat bonus after finishing the elims at 11-1, the Lady Falcons need only to prevail once over the Lady Maroons to make it to the title round.

The Finals is scheduled on Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the Malate venue.
