Lady Falcons face embattled Lady Bulldogs
Myla Pablo of National University needs to wake up from her scoring slump to help the Lady Bulldogs arrest an alarming skid.

Adamson University and National University look to part ways Sunday in their elimination round rematch in the 78th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Falcons seek to snatch their third straight win against a reeling Lady Bulldogs side in the scheduled 2:00 p.m. match.

The game will air live on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream at sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/uaap.

Both teams share the sixth to seventh spot with 3-4 win-loss slates.

But momentum is on Adamson’s side as the Lady Falcons closed the first round with back-to-back victories against Far Eastern University and University of the East.

After a four-match losing skid, the Lady Falcons are slowly peeking behind the improved performances of Jema Galanza, Mylene Paat, and May Roque.

Head coach Sherwin Meneses is banking on the trio to help the San Marcelino-based squad exact revenge on NU, which handed them the first of their four straight losses in the first round in a 25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 20-25 decision exactly a month ago.

Adamson wants to capitalize on NU’s three-game losing skid brought by the slumping games of Myla Pablo and 6-foot-5 Jaja Santiago.

The Lady Bulldogs yielded to a young University of the Philippines team, 19-25, 21-25, 20-25, last Wednesday at the end of the first round.

Pablo and Santiago combined for a measly seven points in that duel in a disappointing performance that drew the ire of coach Roger Gorayeb.
