BACK IN BUSINESS. DLSU remains the preseason winner after securing commitments from top prospects from both the UAAP and the NCAA Juniors.
After establishing and reinforcing the contention of College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills in the NCAA Juniors, the Rivero brothers are now hoping to become key parts of De La Salle University’s march back into the playoffs.
With finality, little brother Ricci is set to join kuya Prince as a Green Archer. “Committed na ako sa DLSU,” he told ABS-CBN Sports.
Nothing but expected that two Riveros will be on the same team again, Ricci is only looking forward to being in greener pastures. “Siyempre, kuya was a factor and of course, I really want to play for DLSU,” he said.
The CSB-LSGH product is the latest catch in what has been a huge offseason for the Green Archers who are have already welcomed new coach and NCAA champion Aldin Ayo, UAAP Juniors MVP Aljun Melecio, and former CESAFI standout Ben Mbala.
The elder Rivero was a MVP back in his days in the NCAA Juniors while his younger sibling also wound up first in statistical points in his last year as a Greenie. However, Ricci was unable to take home the top individual trophy because of a one-game suspension he incurred during the season.
Still, the newest Green Archer recognized what happened as the biggest lesson he has learned to date. As he expressed, “Hindi na mauulit yun. Sobrang natutunan ko yung maturity sa nangyari.”
