De La Salle University broke a six-game losing slump to start the second round of eliminations in the 78th UAAP men's volleyball tournament.
With renewed confidence, the Green Spikers are looking to start a winning run Saturday against the Far Eastern University at The Arena in San Juan.
Game time is set at 8:00 a.m.
After opening the season with a straight sets win against the University of the Philippines, the Taft-based squad experienced a downward spiral before arresting the skid with a tight five-set decision over the University of the Philippines.
Raymark Woo and John Onia served as the heroes for the Ron Dulay-mentored squad's 27-25, 25-21, 18-25, 23-25, 15-11 win, coming out with 27 and 14 points, respectively.
The duo are expected to explode anew to avenge a 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 19-25 loss against the Tamaraws in the first round last February 28.
FEU had its three-game winning run snapped in a sorry 25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 21-25, 11-15, loss to open the second round last week against the defending champion Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles.
The Tams are in solo fourth spot with 5-3 record.
Greg Dolor, Jeric Gacutan, Jude Garcia and JP Bugaoan will carry the fight of the Morayta-based squad to avoid its first back-to-back losses of the season.
