FEU rookie Rico Andes tops Men’s Football scoring list after first round

FEU Rookie Rico Andes has been big for the defending champions this season
Far Eastern University rookie Rico Andes has made quite the impact for the defending champions this season, as the first-year striker tops the UAAP Season 78 Men’s Football leading goal scorers with six conversions in seven matches played.
This season, Andes has has two games where in he’s scored a brace, helping keep the defending champs in the running for another post-season appearance.
Not far behind Andes are a couple of veterans in De La Salle University’s Greggy Yang and National University skipper Paolo Salenga, who both have five goals each.
Andes’ FEU teammate Val Jurao and Ateneo rookie sensation Jarvey Gayoso both have four conversions to their name.
National U’s breakout scorer Nico Macapal has also made quite the name for himself, recording three conversions in the first round, along with DLSU’s Gelo Diamante, University of Santo Tomas’ Dionisio Busmion, and Ateneo captain Mikko Mabanag.
A few of rookies have also made an immediate impact in the league, as DLSU’s Jed Diamante and UST’s AJ Pasion and Renz Gumban, who all have two goals each this season, along with FEU’s Paolo Bugas, UST’s Ronald Batisla-ong, and Ateneo’s Julian Roxas.
