Lady Eagles snatch back-to-back victories
Ateneo de Manila regained the solo top spot.

Defending back-to-back champion Ateneo de Manila regained the hold of the lead with a straight sets, 25-17, 25-10, 25-21 win over the Far Eastern University in the 78th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.

The Lady Eagles won their second straight to improve to 8-2 win-loss record ahead of erstwhile co-leader De La Salle University (7-2).

Reigning back-to-back Most Valuable Player Alyssa Valdez blasted 17 kills in her 20-point performance while Jho Maraguinot had an all-around game with 10 points coupled with 13 excellent digs and five perfect receptions to lead the Katipunan-based squad. Playmaker Jia Morado dished out 37 excellent sets with three points.

FEU slid to 5-5 card tied with National University Lady Bulldogs at fourth to fifth spot.

No Lady Tams player reached double-figures in scoring with Toni Basas putting up only eight markers.
