Far Eastern University lock horns with spoiler University of the East.
Arresting a three-game losing skid and scoring its first win in the second round are the objectives of Far Eastern University against the also-ran University of the East Red Warriors Sunday in the 78th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
After a strong finish in the first seven games of the eliminations, the Tamaraws suddenly found themselves spiraling down south with three straight losses to slide back to 5-5 card in fourth to fifth spot tied with University of the Philippines.
FEU is looking to rebound from those setbacks when it takes the floor in the scheduled 8:00 a.m. match and get back on track in the Final Four race for the remaining three seats.
The Morayta-based squad fell victim to Adamson University 25-14, 22-25, 21-25, 17-25, last Wednesday.
UE, on the other hand, is down with a 24-game losing skid since last season.
Winless in 10 games, the Red Warriors were eliminated from contention by UP, 9-25, 22-25, 19-25, last week.
Ateneo de Manila (10-1) occupied the first semifinals slot while Adamson University (8-3) is assured of at least a playoff for a Final Four spot.
