The champs are flying high just in time for the Final Four.
After rival La Salle got its twice-to-beat advantage just minutes earlier, the Ateneo Lady Eagles took care of business on their end.
The two-time defending champions took back the number one spot and secured the other Final Four incentive with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 win over Adamson University in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball tournament at the MOA Arena Saturday.
The Lady Eagles won their fourth straight win and moved back into a tie with the Lady Spikers at 10-2.
Ateneo qualified for its seventh straight Final Four appearance weeks ago and is in a race with La Salle for the number one spot.
"We really had a not super okay game," two-time MVP Alyssa Valdez said. "We had a lot of errors, we had miscommunication and so much more na we have to improve siguro on practice."
"Kahit palapit na matapos yung second round, madami pang kailangan na ayusin yung team," she added.
Ateneo's "not super okay game" didn't show on the court really as the Lady Eagles got win number 10 in just 63 minutes.
Valdez topscored the Lady Eagles with 16 points while Amy Ahomiro added 15 for the champs.
Ateneo's rematch against La Salle next Sunday will likely decide the number one seed in the playoffs.
Team captain Mylene Paat led the Lady Falcons with 9 points as the team dropped to 3-9 after a fifth straight defeat. Adamson is yet to win under interim coach Domeng Custodio.
