The first time that NU and DLSU met this season, they battled to a 1-1 draw. Will the outcome be different the second time around?
With the De La Salle Green Archers stumbling out the gate to start the second round, National University head coach Lem Laranas hopes that his Bulldogs can capitalize on the former top seed's recent string of setbacks.
"Hindi naman sa inaanticipate namin, pero kumbaga nado-drawing na namin eh, kasi La Salle, nag-peak kaagad sila in the first round," Laranas told ABS-CBN Sports.
Laranas' Bulldogs first met the Green Archers in the last playing day of the first round. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both conversions happening in the first fifteen minutes of the match.
Since then, NU has gone on to win two straight against Adamson and UE, while DLSU has lost two straight, to FEU and UP.
With the Bulldogs gathering momentum of their own, this could be the perfect time to pounce on the wounded Archers.
"Now kasi, given those two losses, though they’re hop ing to bounce back, kami syempre ready din kami, kasi we have to capitalize na galling sila sa dalawang losses already. Hopefully we can win against them."
The Bulldogs and Archers go head to head, Saturday evening at 8:00 pm in McKinley. Can the Bulldogs capitalize, or will the Archers find a way to bounce back?
