UP out to eliminate UST from Final Four contention
After surviving Far Eastern University in five sets, the Fighting Maroons would want to take a full one game lead over the Tamaraws at the same time, getting rid of one more playoff contender in the University of Santo Tomas.

The University of the Philippines is out to solidify its hold for the last Final Four slot as action resumes in the UAAP Season 78 men's volleyball tournament at the San Juan Arena Sunday.

After surviving Far Eastern University in five sets, the Fighting Maroons would want to take a full one game lead over the Tamaraws at the same time, getting rid of one more playoff contender in the University of Santo Tomas.

With a 6-6 record, a victory by State U would eliminate the Tigers (4-8) from the Final Four race.

The Fighting Maroons got hold of solo fourth place with a rousing 21-25, 27-25, 25-21, 21-25, 16-14 win over FEU last March 30 and the Tamaraws losing to National University yesterday.

Gametime is set at 8:00 a.m.

On the brink of elimination after suffering a four-set defeat to the Bulldogs right after the Holy Week break, the Tiger Spikers hope to stay alive with a win.

UST needs to sweep all of its remaining assignments to at least have a shot at the playoffs.
