Bulldogs survive DLSU scare for fourth straight win
National University had to bite its way back from a 1-2 deficit to finish the regular season with four straight victories.

Twice-to-beat or not, UAAP Season 77 finalist National University is going to the playoffs on a roll.

The Bulldogs dispatched De La Salle University in five hard fought sets, 25-19, 25-27, 18-25, 25-21, 15-12, in the UAAP Season 78 men's volleyball tournament at the San Juan Arena Wednesday.

Needing a win to boost their case for the number 2 spot, NU had to scratch and bite its way to win as the also-ran Green Spikers gave a tough fight.

In the end however, the talented Bulldogs capped their regular season with a 10th victory  against four defeats after almost two hours.

James Natividad led five NU players in double figures with 20 points as NU now awaits the result of Adamson's two remaining games to decide who joins defending champion Ateneo as the top two seeds in the Final Four.

The idle Soaring Falcons currently sit a 9 wins and three losses.

Madzlan Gampong added 18 for the Bulldogs while Ruben Baysac and Francis Saura scored 15 apiece.

Raymark Woo once again paced the Green Spikers with 22 points as the La Salle took advantage of 44 NU errors to push the game to a deciding fifth set.

At 4-9, the Taft-based squad have once more chance to close out Season 78 with a win in their final assignment.
