UP coach Jerry Yee and his balancing act with the Lady Maroons and his new-born baby girl

UP head coach Jerry Yee has a lot to be happy about as the Lady Maroons are on the brink of the Final Four and his wife recently gave birth to a baby girl.
First time father and UP head coach Jerry Yee hopes to add another first this season, leading the Lady Maroons to their first Final Four appearance since 2004.
And after a victory over the UST Golden Tigresses Sunday, State U is oh so close in breaking the longest Final Four drought in the UAAP.
Aside from the legion of UP fans supporting the team this season, little baby girl Georgjia Celestine, born last Monday, serves as added inspiration for coach Jerry late in Season 78.
Serving as a father to his new baby girl and as a father figure to the Lady Maroons, coach Yee is starting to lose sleep, but he does not mind it at all.
"Mahirap pala. Enjoy, masaya pero puyat talaga kasi ‘yung oras niya gigising siya ng alas onse kakain siya hanggang alas sais ng umaga eh. Enjoy pa rin syempre,” Yee said.
"Minsan naiisip ko nagseselos din si misis kasi yung oras ko sa practice hindi naman nabawasan. You try to cope lang, practice nandiyan ka and then sa gabi nandiyan ka rin [for family] so sacridfice mo yung sarili mo, yung tulog mo ewan ko san mo hahanapin," he added.
Taking care of business in the regular season, Yee and the Lady Maroons now turn their attention in the Final Four and the possible knockout game that may come before it.
"Of course focus tayo dito [possible playoff] and then mag Final Four. Malay natin makasilat tayo ng isang game so pukpok pa rin talaga dito," Yee said.
"If meron man magkukulang na oras, sa side ko yun. Kung sleep ko yun, edi sleep ko yung mawawala walang problema," he added.
At 8-6, the Lady Maroons await the result of the final La Salle-NU game on Wednesday, April 13.
If the Lady Bulldogs win, a playoff will follow between NU and UP but if the Lady Bulldogs lose, the Lady Maroons will face two-time defending champion Ateneo in the Final Four.
