The Tamaraws' Final Four destiny is out of their hands, but they want to at least give themselves a chance.
In the last day of the elimination round of the UAAP Season 78 men's volleyball tournament, stakes are obviously high.
Especially for Far Eastern University as the Tamaraws will attempt to keep their flickering Final Four hopes alive.
The Morayta-based squad is faced with a must-win situation against also-ran UST in the first game at 8 a.m. at the San Juan Arena Wednesday.
With a 6-7 record, the Tamaraws hope to pick up a win in order to have a chance at forcing a playoff for the fourth and final spot in the postseason.
Should FEU win and the University of the Philippines loses its final game, both schools will be tied at 7-7.
Whoever comes out of the two-team scramble will face defending champion Ateneo in the Final Four.
Meanwhile, the Tigers Spikers, who are on a rebuilding year after being the second seed in Season 77 wants to play spoiler against their long-time UAAP rivals.
Going into the matchup with a disappointing 4-9 slate, a victory by the Espana-based squad automatically awards State U a playoff berth.
