Don't be surprised to see Kim Dy competing for the MVP in Season 79 and beyond.
If you're a fan of La Salle or just a fan of volleyball in general, try to remember the April 13, 2016 matchup between the Lady Spikers and the NU Lady Bulldogs.
Because when Kim Dy inevitably takes over the Taft program starting as early as next season, we'll all look back at that game as the one that made her a bona fide UAAP star.
Dy, a former Palarong Pambansa champion, exploded for a career-high 25 points against the Lady Bulldogs, scoring in every way imaginable in the four-set affair.
The finest offensive performance by a Lady Spiker in Season 78 so far, Dy finished with 15 attacks, five blocks and five aces.
"Siguro nasa mood," head coach Ramil De Jesus said as Dy capped her sensational second round with a bang.
Dy led La Salle in scoring in all but one game in the second half of the season, all of which were victories.
She averaged 14.4 points per game in round 2 compared to only 5 points in the first round.
The only time she didn't lead the team was last Sunday against Ateneo. Ara Galang was the leader on that game, scoring 20 points, the first time a Lady Spiker cracked the 20-point barrier for Season 78.
For Dy however, it's just about gaining more confidence in herself to elevate her own game.
"Wala naman, inisip ko lang na I have to start with myself para ma-boost yung confidence ko," Dy said. "Kasi if hindi ako gumalaw, hindi ako magge-gain ng confidence so sana tuluy-tuloy din yung laro ko na ganun."
If you're a fan of La Salle or just a fan of volleyball in general, don't be surprised to see Kim Dy competing for the MVP in Season 79 and beyond.
Because she already gave you a preview of what to expect back in April 13, 2016.
