According to UP coach Jerry Yee, Isa Molde and the rest of the Lady Maroons need some more lessons to truly compete for the UAAP championship.
The UP Lady Maroons were impressive in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball tournament, but they still need a couple more lessons in order to truly compete for a championship.
While the young Lady Maroons have all the "puso" in the world, head coach Jerry Yee says his wards still need a little more of "utak."
"Mahina pa eh, tsaka kulang pa sa lahat pati sa utak," Yee said after UP lost to two-time defending champion Ateneo in the Final Four.
"Totoo, kasi hindi pa namin alam yung gagawin namin, natataranta pa kami," he added.
While inexperience may have played a part in the Lady Maroons looking lackadaisical against the Lady Eagles—super rookies Isa Molde and Diana Carlos combined for only 10 points—Yee and the entire UP community can expect to field an even better lineup for Season 79.
That's because the whole gang is coming back for another season, not counting the recruits Yee has waiting on the wings.
According to Yee, seniors Nicole Tiamzon, who led the team against Ateneo with 13 points, and team captain Kathy Bersola are returning for Season 79.
And as for the things the Lady Maroons have to do for a better Season 79, Yee already has a list for UP.
"Weights, practice, lectures," he said. "Everything."
