The best is yet to come, so says DLSU’s KKD
WE'VE ONLY JUST BEGUN. Kim Dy says we all haven't seen the best of her and the DLSU Lady Spikers just yet.

De La Salle University systematically dismantled archrival Ateneo de Manila University in Game 1 of their Finals matchup in the UAAP Season 78 Women’s Volleyball Tournament.

Four Lady Spikers contributed double-digit scoring as they dominated their opponents in all aspects.

There was one girl hailing from Taft Avenue, however, who stood out in the biggest stage of the season. Kim Kianna Dy top-scored for her team with 15 points – all but four coming from attacks.

Stepping up in key moments while the two teams were still neck-and-neck, the third-year spiker even won the first set for DLSU.

Asked about another breakout performance – one of several in the season – for her, Dy deflected praise back to her teammates by saying, “Everyone woke up on the right side on the bed kasi kita niyo naman, lahat kumilos. It was really a team effort talaga.”

Pressed if she thought this was her best game so far, however, the girl fondly called “KKD” by her fans took some time to think before answering, “Hindi pa. I think I can improve more.”

The rising star then added that the same can be said for the Lady Spikers – that Game 1 wasn’t their best game just yet. As she put it, “We’re not content with what we did because there’s always room for improvement.”

She also added with a laugh, “We’re not overconfident kasi baka ma-jinx.”
