UAAP Season 78 Finals MVP Kim Kianna Dy needs a witty nickname because we'll see more of her in future seasons.
We've been talking about it during the second half of UAAP Season 78 and now it's official.
Kim Kianna Dy is the undisputed star of the De La Salle Lady Spikers and she has a Finals MVP award to prove it.
Dy led the way for La Salle in the deciding game 3 against the Ateneo Lady Eagles saturday, scoring a team-high 17 points on 16 attacks.
La Salle head coach Ramil De Jesus, ABS-CBN Sports+Action analyst Doctor Ian Laurel and team captain Kim Fajardo were among the many who were impressed with Dy's breakout.
"Sobrang laki ng tiwala ko sa batang yun, ewan ko basta kasi sakin sobrang laki ng nakikita ko sa kanya. Sobrang taas ng potential niya," Fajardo said of her new number one target on offense starting next season. "Marami siyang papahirapan."
"Well deserving," coach Ramil said of his utility spiker.
Doctor Laurel singled her out as the major key to La Salle's championship puzzle.
"Kim Dy, a monster game for her," he said.
Ever the team player, Dy, who averaged 16 points, 13.3 attacks and 1.33 blocks in the best-of-three series, was just happy to do her part.
Turns out her role was to be Finals MVP on a team full of brilliant offensive weapons.
"Inisip ko lang naman na I should do my part siguro, and naisip ko na ito na talaga yung last game so all out na," the third year hitter said.
The good news for the La Salle faithful is that she may be only getting started.
With still a long way to go in her UAAP career, Kim Dy is only bound to get better.
"May two years pa ako para mag-improve, I should not be contented with my performance this season," Dy said.
