DONE DEAL. After conquering them in the Juniors division, Justine Baltazar will now be a big piece of De La Salle's future.
Taft Avenue will have to wait longer for its new-age “Big Three” as UAAP Juniors Finals MVP Justine Baltazar will not be clad in green and white for next season.
The six-foot seven-inch center again confirmed to ABS-CBN Sports on Thursday that he will be transferring from Nazareth School of National University to De La Salle University. The new development, however, is that he will have to sit out one year for academic reasons.
Asked if his transfer was final after being seen inside the Green Archers’ locker room, Baltazar responded, “Oo. Team B muna.”
Pressed for reasons why, the Pampanga native simply said, “Aral muna.”
Like the first time the development broke, DLSU coach Aldin Ayo also gave confirmation to ABS-CBN Sports.
The Finals MVP who led his Bullpups to a championship in the most recent Juniors tournament was the final piece in a fantastic offseason for DLSU that also netted UAAP Juniors Season MVP Aljun Melecio and NCAA Juniors standout Ricci Rivero.
