It looks like the Green and Gold basketball squad in Morayta is about to get a big boost.

Reports surfaced Wednesday that two former Ateneo Blue Eagles in Arvin Tolentino and Hubert Cani are both headed to Far Eastern University.

Tamaraws head coach Nash Racela confirmed the reports...

...while the two new Tamaraws took to social media to subtly break the news to their followers.

Tolentino and Cani were among a handful of Blue Eagles who were deemed ineligible to suit up because of failing to meet the school's grade requirements. Among those who already found new homes were star-to-be CJ Perez who will be suiting up for Lyceum in the NCAA next season, and former back-to-back juniors MVP Jerie Pingoy, who'll be joining Adamson.

A product of the San Beda program, Tolentino was a juniors standout, earning Mythical Team honors in NCAA Season 88 and taking home the Finals MVP trophy in NCAA Season 89. The once prized recruit for Ateneo, Tolentino made an immediate impact in UAAP Season 77. And while his performance dipped in the second round of the season, it didn't stop him from taking home Rookie of the Year honors.

Season 78 was a different story however, as the six-foot-five forward saw his playing time dip significantly.

Season 78 also marked the seniors debut of Cani, who sat out a year due to residency after transferring from the NU Bullpups. During his juniors career, Cani earned Mythical Team and Finals MVP honors in Season 76.

Unfortunately for the five-foot-eleven guard, he found himself lost in the Ateneo Blue Eagles rotation during Season 78, due to a number of guards on the lineup.

Tolentino and Cani will continue their UAAP careers with the winningest basketball program in the UAAP, and will certainly bolster the Morayta squads title chances in the future.
