PATIENT. Alfred Aroga's status for Season 79 is finally clear.
Very much like the team he belongs to, Alfred Aroga likes to keep things low-key.
That extends even to matters regarding his health.
The Cameroonian confirmed on Tuesday that he finally has clearance to play from team doctors. “Yes, I’ve started practicing,” he said.
This, coming after coach Eric Altamirano’s revelation that his man in the middle actually tore his leg muscle a month ago.
Apparently, this was the injury Aroga was referring to when he told ABS-CBN Sports two weeks ago, “As far as I’m concerned, the offseason wasn’t good because of major injuries.”
However, the Bulldogs’ big man was quick to clarify that while he is cleared, he is not yet at full health. “These guys are like at 200 percent and I still need to catch up with them,” he said.
Indeed, Aroga would need to do so especially now that he is their team captain. Still, he was adamant that even without him, his teammates are more than capable to pick up the slack as he said, “I’m not even doubting them. I’m 100 percent sure that without me, they will do the job.”
