Defending champion FEU clashes with title favorite DLSU
THIS FIRE BURNS. FEU and DLSU will finally get to finish what they started during their tuneup game last month.

Games on Wednesday at the MOA Arena

2:00 PM – NU vs UE

4:00 PM – DLSU vs FEU

This much is clear, now in the UAAP 79 Men’s Basketball Tournament more than ever, there is no love lost between Far Eastern University and De La Salle University.

And so it’s just fitting that to commence their respective campaigns, they would have to go through each another.

The defending champion Tamaraws meet up with the title favorite Green Archers for the right to start the season on the right foot on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.

The most-anticipated matchup of the year tips-off at 4:00 PM and all of the action will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN S+A channel 23, S+A HD channel 166  as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/uaap.

The tension between the two teams was felt even during the traditionally light-hearted pre-tournament presser a week ago. Asked about their season-opener, new DLSU coach Aldin Ayo quipped, “Excited to play FEU kasi ‘di natapos tuneup game namin e.”

For his part, FEU mentor Nash Racela said, “Excited to play DLSU para matapos na yung (tuneup) game.”

Both shot-callers were referring to the tuneup game between the two teams last month that was called off for getting too intense.

Now in the UAAP, it will still be up to last year’s Mythical selection Jeron Teng as well as hulking reinforcement Ben Mbala to leave a good impression that they’re coming right for the defending champions who will now be led by Monbert Arong and Raymar Jose.
