MUCH-NEEDED: While UST is hoping to get back on track, UP is hoping to just get on the win column.
Games on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum
2:00 PM – UST vs UP
4:00 PM – Ateneo vs Adamson
University of the Philippines is coming off a second straight setback that locked them out of the win column in the UAAP 79 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
University of Sto. Tomas already has one win to show through three games, but they’re coming off something worse – their worst loss in 10 years, to be exact.
Wanting nothing more than to get the bad taste off their mouths, the Maroons and the Growling Tigers fight over a much-wanted win on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Maroons have yet to taste victory under new coach Bo Perasol after opening the season with back-to-back losses to Adamson University (104 - 85) and De La Salle University (89 - 71).
Meanwhile, UST was no match for pre-touranment favorite La Salle as the Green Archers tamed the Growling Tigers, 100 - 62, last Wednesday.
The battle, fondly dubbed “Separation of Church and State,” commences at 2:00 PM. It will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN S+A channel 23 and ABS-CBN S+A HD channel 166 as well as streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/uaap.
