UNDEFEATED. NU continues to reign over their opponents - the last 35 of which have all been defeated.

Just like they have for three years running now, National University is looking down on the rest of the field in the UAAP 79 Womens Basketball Tournament.

Gemma Miranda pounded in a 26-point, 13-rebound double-double, Afril Bernardino contributed 20 more markers, and the Lady Bulldogs made quick work of Adamson University, 85-53, on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.

The two-time defending champions suffered a slow start, but it didn’t last long as they unloaded a 17-5 onslaught that put them on top, 24-15, to end the opening salvo. They wouldn’t be threatened for the remainder of the game en route to their third consecutive victory to start the season.

“You need to focus from start to finish. You really have to work hard to earn a win,” a satisfied coach Pat Aquino expressed after the game.

Not only did their latest conquest keep NU alone atop the leaderboard, it also registered for them their 35th win in a row dating back to 2014.

Meanwhile, Love Sto. Domingo starred with 20 points and 11 rebounds as the University of the East throttled the University of the Philippines, 69-51.

Behind their power performer, the Lady Warriors improved to 2-1.

With their respective losses, the Lady Falcons dropped to 1-2 while the Lady Maroons remained winless through three games.
