HEALING FACTOR. Aaron Black will be missing at least two of Ateneo's next assignments.
After he is set to be sidelined for the first time in the UAAP 79 Men’s Basketball Tournament on Saturday, Aaron Black is projected to miss at least two more matchups for Ateneo de Manila University.
Nursing a left foot injury, the second-year player needs at least two weeks to rest and recover. “He is on a walking boot right now. He will probably miss at least two weeks,” team manager Epok Quimpo said.
After two weeks, however, it’s still uncertain if Black will be able to return to action. As Quimpo said, “After two weeks, he will be re-assessed. Hopefully, he returns by then.”
The Blue Eagle suffered the left foot injury last Wednesday in their game against Far Eastern University. Describing the pain he was feeling then, he said, “I just felt something on my foot. I still don’t know what it is, but there was something on my foot.”
He then continued, “I felt it as I was going baseline. That’s all I know right now.”
After his fall then, Black had to be carried by medics on his way back to the bench. Post-game, he still wasn’t able to put weight on his left foot and had to be helped by teammates Quintio Banzon and Thirdy Ravena out of the venue.
