NU’s Salem was all business up against former team DLSU

NOTHING PERSONAL. Matt Salem said he was just doing his job for NU when they went up against former team DLSU.
National University, just like the three other teams before them, fell victim to the onslaught De La Salle University has been bringing upon the UAAP 79 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Still, the Bulldogs gave the Green Archers their toughest test yet.
Much of that had to do with sweet-shooting big man Matt Salem who turned in his best game of the season with 15 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
Perhaps the 23-year-old was sending a statement to his former team? Swiftly shooting down that notion however, he expressed, “Not at all. (I have) nothing against them. I’m friends with all the players, especially the players in the championship team.”
Salem was a member of the 2013 DLSU championship team. He then stayed for one more season in Taft before transferring to Sampaloc.
Instead, the sweet-shooting big man said he was simply doing all in his power to help the Bulldogs. “It’s nothing against La Salle, it’s nothing like that. I’m just supposed to go out there and do my role,” he said.
