NEW OBSTACLE. DLSU will have to overcome the absence of head coach Aldin Ayo and team captain Jeron Teng if they are to sweep the first round.
On the same day De La Salle University found out their team captain was going to be sidelined for at least a week, they also found out that their head coach will still have to serve a one-game suspension.
The UAAP on Saturday upheld the one-game suspension head coach Aldin Ayo incurred after he got himself ejected three days earlier. League commissioner Atty. Rebo Saguisag confirmed the development.
This means that the fiery mentor will be unavailable when the Green Archers go for a first round sweep against archrival Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday at the MOA Arena. Team captain Jeron Teng will also miss the rivalry game due to injury.
Ayo was thrown out of DLSU’s matchup with University of the East last Wednesday after he charged inside the court and offered eyeglasses to a game official. He was complaining about a missed call on starting pointman Thomas Torres.
From that point, the Taft-based school had been appealing the one-game suspension.
