RETURN OF THE COMEBACK. Jeron Teng will finally be back in action after missing DLSU's last two games.
Even without team captain Jeron Teng in back-to-back games against contenders, De La Salle University remained perfect in the UAAP 79 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Now, the best will only get even better as the league-leading Green Archers are set to welcome back Teng for their next game. Coming from the man himself, he told reporters, “(I’m) better na. I’ll be back next game for sure.”
A week ago, the graduating swingman underwent surgery to mend the bone spurs in his left foot. Since then, he was sidelined in his team’s matchups with archrival Ateneo and upstart Adamson.
Still, DLSU came out on top in both of those meetings to jack up their record to a crystal clear 8-0. For their next assignment on Saturday against UP, they will once again have Teng who has already returned to practice.
The former Rookie of the Year was quick to add, however, that it was yet to be determined if he was back at full health. Asked if he was still feeling any sort of pain on his left foot, he answered, “Sana wala. Wala naman siguro.”
For his part, DLSU coach Aldin Ayo said they are in no rush to bring back Teng. As he put it, “He’s already practicing, but we want to make sure that when he comes back, he’ll be 100 percent.”
