UAAP By the Numbers: A new low

You think Boy Sablan's UST Growling Tigers need some help when facing La Salle?
If you have friends from UST, you might want to give them a hug or something.
The Growling Tigers experienced a new low in the UAAP this week as the hosts got another trashing at the hands of mighty La Salle in the form of a 56-99 beating.
Add that to the 62-100 loss they suffered in the first round and that's a combined 81 poinst in two defeats just for this season alone.
As much as UST fans probably won't like it, we break that game down further in this latest edition of UAAP By the Numbers.
Margin of victory by La Salle over UST last week, the biggest margin recorded in the UAAP since 2003.
The previous high was 40 back in 2011 for Season 74 when the NU Bulldogs smashed the University of the East, 91-51.
A 40-point beating also happened in Season 70 after the Red Warriors destroyed UP, 99-59.
La Salle would have still beaten UST even if we took away all of the Green Archers points outside the paint as the boys from Taft recorded 58 inside points, two more than the Tigers' entire ouput.
The positive plus-minus recorded by Ben Mbala and Jeron Teng.
What this number basically means is that the Tigers were toast when both Big Ben and the King Archer were on the floor.
Number of points scored by UST in the second quarter.
After a respectable first 10 minutes, the Tigers simply collapsed in the second quarter, paving the way for their historic defeat.
Number of points scored by Ateneo's Raffy Verano in a 65-50 win by the Blue Eagles against the struggling NU Bulldogs.
Prior to his second round explosion, Verano only managed a total of 27 points in his first 9 games for Katipunan.
