Thirdy's sneaker obsession makes its way on court

Thirdy turned to his old reliable Sunday against La Salle and rocked the Air Jordan 1 Chicago on court. He swears wearing retros is not that much painful for him.
While they still pretty much run the sneaker game, Air Jordans are notorious for killing your feet if you try and play basketball with them in 2016.
Well, don't tell that to Thirdy Ravena.
The high-flying Blue Eagle has been rocking Jordan retros all throughout UAAP Season 79, making Ateneo games not only a joy to watch for basketball fanatics, but also to sneakerheads.
"I just wanna play in them. I don't know, I really love sneakers," Ravena told ABS-CBN Sports.
"I just wanted to incorporate it in my game. I just wanted to show and express my love for shoes on and off the court because I'm a sneakerhead," he added.
While most people wouldn't dare to wear their precious Js on court because they're expensive and they feel like bricks on feet, Thirdy doesn't have that problem.
At least on the models that he actually uses.
"I'm not really having a hard time trying to play in Jordans. Yun lang ang swerte ko kasi some people ask me bat daw ako nagsu-suot sa Jordan masakit sa paa, pero hindi naman masyado masakit para sa akin," he said.
Thirdy has broke out some classic kicks this season like the Royal 1s, the white cement 4s, and a couple of Kobe Huarache and Hyperdunk retros, however, against La Salle Sunday, he turned to one of his old reliables in the Air Jordan 1 Chicago.
It's actually his second favorite shoe.
"Jordan 1s, my favorite. Next to that will probably the 4s," Thirdy said. "Banned first, then I'd go with Chicago and Black Toe," he added as to what makes up his top three colorways.
As for the next fire kicks that makes their way to his feet during games, Thirdy revealed that he chooses his weapons of choice on game day itself.
"We'll see. Naiisip ko lang siya the day itself eh. I mean I'm not trying to prepare for it. Pag nakita ko habang nagaayos ako oy pwede ko to gamitin. We'll see kung ano mahanap ko," he said.
