FEU keeps semis bid alive in girls volleyball
Far Eastern University survived its first knockout match to move closer to clinching a stepladder semifinals spot.

Far Eastern University-Diliman overcame a third set loss to turn back Adamson University, 26-24, 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, and keep its semifinals hopes alive in the girls division of the 79th UAAP high school volleyball tournament Tuesday.     

The Baby Lady Tamaraws pounced on the Baby Lady Falcons’ late game errors to win the first of do-or-die matches at the Adamson University gym.     

FEU-Diliman will face University of the East in another knockout game, this time for the remaining berth in the step-ladder semifinals at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the same San Marcelino venue.     

By sweeping the 12-game elimination round, three-peat seeking National University jumped straight to the best-of-three championship.     

University of Sto. Tomas secured a twice-to-beat advantage in the step-ladder semis after finishing second with a 10-2 record.     

De La Salle-Zobel wound up third with a 8-4 card. The Junior Lady Spikers will take on either the Junior Lady Warriors or the Baby Lady Tamaraws in the first step-ladder match on Saturday.
