Long layoff put a break on FEU's title drive

Raymar Jose and the rest of the FEU Tamaraws are suddenly in danger of losing a Final Four bonus.
Don't look now but defending champion Far Eastern University is actually in trouble of losing a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four for UAAP Season 79.
After winning seven straight games to put a stranglehold on the no. 2 spot, the Tamaraws came out of a long two-week layoff losing back-to-back games.
Falling to Adamson last Nov. 6 and to Ateneo Wednesday, the Tamaraws are suddenly tied with the Blue Eagles at 8-4, putting the last Final Four bonus up for grabs as the season nears its climax.
Team captain Raymar Jose thinks that the break did in fact affect the Tamaraws late in their title-retention bid.
"Siguro sa break na lang namin, sa layo kasi eh. Parang nawala yung momentum namin," Jose said.
All is not lost for the Tamaraws however, even if they have a looming grudge match against no. 1 La Salle on the horizon.
"Para samin masakit kasi kailangan talaga namin manalo para makuha namin yung twice-to-beat pero wala na eh, natalo na. Move on na lang kami," he said.
"Trabahuhin nalang namin yung dalawang laro. Kung ano man manyayari yun na lang," Jose added.
