FIGHT ON. True to being a Red Warrior, Aljun Bolido fought through injury to help UE Pep Squad finish their routine.
The University of the East Pep Squad was right in the middle of their performance in the 2016 UAAP Cheerdance Competition when the unfortunate happened.
One of their members landed awkwardly following a tumble and it was very much apparent that he had trouble putting any weight on his right foot.
You can see yourself what happened in the lower right portion and at the 5:55 mark of the following video:
As it turns out, that wasn’t the first time UE Pep Squad member Aljun Bolido has had foot problems. In fact, it was just two days before the CDC that he first got injured as he shared, “Nung Thursday pa nangyari, nung kasagsagan ng training namin, sumakit na.”
He then continued, “Kahit kaninang warmup, sinusubok-subukan ko na. Sumasakit, pero nilaban ko pa rin po.”
And when Bolido re-injured his right foot right in the middle of their performance, the pain only got worse. Asked to describe the pain on a scale of 1-10, he answered, “Mga eight po. ’Di ko sana itutuloy pero naisip kong kailangan kong ituloy kasi gusto naming manalo.”
Fortunately, it helped that his teammates were right behind Bolido. “Kahit ganun, lagi nila akong sinasabihan, ‘Laban ka Aljun, laban!’ Dahil dun, sinasabi ko naman sa kanila, ‘O sige, lalaban ko. Kaya natin to,” he shared.
He then continued, “Kaya lumalaban talaga ako kahit masakit na po.”
In the end, Bolido said his healing will go a lot better knowing that he did not let his injury put himself and his squad down. “Masaya kasi hindi ko hinayaang hindi mabuo yung mga gagawin dapat namin,” he expressed.
