With the men's seniors basketball Final Four of UAAP Season 79 already in place, we found it timely to ask a handful of former UAAP players from past decades to weigh in on this season's tournament picture, and one of the questions that were asked of them was who they could compare themselves to in the league today.

Naturally, these guys had some pretty interesting answers.

Renren Ritualo (former DLSU Green Archer/ current assistant coach for Adamson)

"Siguro yung pinaka-shooter sa La Salle ngayon na nasaktan talaga yung Adamson, si [Aljun] Melecio. For a rookie, malaki yun."

Mac Cuan (former DLSU Green Archer)

"Thomas Torres. Pareho kami eh, more on set up muna, look for the teammates, pag kailangan ng score, libre, take the shot, but we take care of our teammates first."

Mon Jose (former DLSU Green Archer)

"Wala nang nag-da-dive para sa bola eh (laughs), siguro si Jeron [Teng] na lang, kasi same number kami (21)."

Olsen Racela (former Ateneo Blue Eagle)

"Siguro si Matt Nieto. He's not really a known scorer, ganun din ako noon. Suspect yung outside shot, but he gets the job done. Maganda yung pag-quarterback niya sa team, and yung depensa."

Wesley Gonzales (former Ateneo Blue Eagle)

"Si Thirdy [Ravena], pogi eh! (laughs) He can play defense. he can score, he can rebound,  he can do almost everything."

Lester Alvarez (former Adamson Soaring Falcons)

Si [Robbie] Manalang, kasi nase-set up niya yung mga play, yung fastbreak."

Arwind Santos (former FEU Tamaraw)

"Parang wala pa sa ngayon eh."

RR Garcia (former FEU Tamaraw)

"Si [Wendell] Comboy. Pwede kasi siyang uno-dos eh."

Jeff Chan (former FEU Tamaraw)

Si  [Kenneth] Tuffin. Kaliwete din eh. (laughs}

These UAAP legends weighed in on a whole lot more, including rivalries, social media, and even pre-game outfits! See it all on S+A Unfiltered: The UAAP Season 79 Final Four Special, which airs on Tuesday at 8:00 PM on ABS-CBN S+A channel 23!
