Adamson remains as the lone unbeaten team in the UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball tournament.
Adamson University once again validated its status as the real deal in the UAAP Juniors basketball tournament after adding another victim to a growing Season 79 list.
The Baby Falcons extended their winning run to five after manhandling De La Salle-Zobel, 78-53, Saturday at the San Juan Arena.
Adamson remained undefeated after the latest conquest with a clean 5-0 record.
After a close first quarter, Adamson started to slowly pull away in the second period but the Baby Falcons truly broke the game open at the start of the second half, putting up a 21-point lead, 63-42.
Florencio Serrano came off the bench and shot the lights out for Adamson, making all but three of his 11 shots from the field on his way to a game-high 22 points.
Jason Celis added 15 while Gerry Abadianio was the lone Adamson starter to finish in double figures with 10.
After making the Finals in Season 78, the up-and-down year for the La Salle continued as the Junior Archers once again struggle on offense.
Jan Sobrevega and Astrolave Vista both puth up nine points apiece as no Junior Archer broke the 10-point barrier. La Salle now sports a 1-4 record.
In the final game of a quadruple-header, defending champion Nazareth School of National University scored back-to-back wins at the expense of UST, 73-64.
John Clemente dropped 23 for NU as the champion Bullpups had a harder time taking care of the Tiger Cubs than expected.
That probably has something to do with Inand Formillos unloading an impressive 24 points and 14 rebounds for UST.
The Bullpups moved up to 4-1, tied for second place with FEU, with the win while the Tiger Cubs dropped to 1-4.
