Player of the Week Serrano piloting Baby Falcons’ ascent

TAKE THE BALL AND RUN WITH IT. Rookie Encho Serrano is making the most out of the golden opportunity he has in Adamson.
Adamson High School is undefeated through five games in the UAAP 79 Juniors Basketball Tournament.
As impressive as the Baby Falcons have been, the newest weapon they have unleashed has been even more so.
Following his breakthrough 25-point outburst against defending champion Nazareth School of National University, Encho Serrano put on per game counts of 22.5 points, five rebounds, two assists, and 1.5 steals in back-to-back outings.
With the 17-year-old rookie showing the way, Adamson had it easy en route to back-to-back wins.
Busting out and continuing to blast through, Serrano has been rewarded with the Player of the Week plum from November 21-27, edging out triple-doubling SJ Belangel of Ateneo de Manila High School and career-high scoring Xyrus Torres of Far Eastern University-Diliman.
Far from an imposing figure at only five-foot-11, he has nonetheless gotten the better of many of the big men he has taken on, including Blue Eaglets Jason Credo and Zach Salazar as well as De La Salle Zobel’s Joaqui Mariano and MR Romero.
“He’s all heart,” coach Goldwin Monteverde said, perhaps describing his prized prospect best.
Indeed, Serrano said he was leaving his all on the court each and every time he steps onto it. “Binibigay ko lahat ng kaya ko talaga,” he expressed.
