WORK IN PROGRESS. Aldin Ayo and DLSU are not wasting any time as they prepare for the Finals.
Just as Ateneo de Manila University was celebrating its entry into the championship round and Far Eastern University was grieving its loss of the title, De La Salle University was making its way into the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
Less than an hour after the Blue Eaglets got the better of the Tamaraws in their knockout bout, the Green Archers filed into the venue for what turned out to be a scheduled practice.
And just as their archrivals, and now Finals opponents, were exiting, DLSU was taking the court to start their session. “Kahit late na, ginawa ko yung practice after (Ateneo-FEU) game kasi ayokong magsayang ng isang practice,” head coach Aldin Ayo, always laser-focused, said.
It’s not only now that the Green Archers have been practicing, however.
According to team captain Jeron Teng, they already went to work a day after they won their own semifinals pairing last Saturday. “We’ve been practicing really hard, as in really, really hard. Yung first two days after the semifinals were the hardest,” he said.
He then continued, “It was even tougher than our previous practices. Pahirap siya nang pahirap just like our season.”
