Without a doubt, Adamson High School is Encho Serrano’s team in the UAAP 79 Juniors Basketball Tournament.

On Tuesday at the San Juan Arena, however, the other Baby Falcons proved they are no slouches either.

Gerry Abadiano fired all but three of his 18 points in the first half and Adamson overwhelmed De La Salle Zobel, 78-51, to reinforce their placement at the league-lead.

The shifty scorer scored 15 points in the first two quarters as the league-leaders stuffed their opponents right from tip-off and seized control of the lead until the final buzzer. The blowout eventually ended up as their 10th win in 11 games.

The Baby Falcons already had a 47-20 lead at the half before coach Goldwin Monteverde began utilizing many of his seldom-used players. Even then, they proved to be a mismatch for the Junior Archers.

Jason Celis added 12 markers while Serrano had for himself a rare quiet performance with 11 points.

Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila High School got back on track following a 103-77 romp of University of the Philippines Integrated School.

SJ Belangel took out his frustrations on their opponents and wound up with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists while Dave Ildefonso chipped in 20 points and eight rebounds. The Blue Eaglets were firing on all cylinders from start to finish en route to improving to a 6-5 standing.

With their respective losses, the Junior Archers and the Junior Maroons dropped to 3-8 – another loss away from getting eliminated.
