Greg Dolor of Far Eastern University blasted 19 points in the Tamaraws' 5-set win over Adamson.
Squandering a two-set match lead, Far Eastern University needed to hang tough in the fifth set to repulse the pesky Adamson Falcons, 25-22, 25-19, 28-30, 25-27, 15-10, Wednesday in the 79th UAAP men's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Tamaraws survived the comeback attempt of the Falcons to move up the standings for the lead with a 2-0 win-loss record.
Graduating player Greg Dolor led the Morayta-based squad, which overpowered De La Salle to open the season Sunday, with 19 points coming off 16 attacks and three kill blocks. Jude Garcia got 13 kills and four service aces for the Tams.
Peter Quiel finished with 14 points while Richard Solis and John Paul Bugaoan had 13 and 12 markers, respectively, for FEU, which survived the match despite giving away 40 points off their miscues.
It was another heartbreaking loss for the Falcons, who dropped their second straight game in as many outings.
Adamson also came up short against University of the Philippines, 24-26, 25-20, 31-33, 27-25, 15-10, last Sunday.
Jerome Sarmiento's 30-point game went down the drain so does Pablo Pablico's 13 points. Skipper Michael Sudaria finished with 11 points in just four sets of action.
