Blue Eagle booters target second win in UAAP men's football
Star sophomore Jarvey Gayoso led Ateneo to a 4-0 win against Adamson on opening day.

Matches on Thursday, February 9 (Moro Lorenzo Football Field)

4:00 PM - UE vs. UP 

 

The TV cameras turn to UAAP football action for the first time this season, as Ateneo de Manila try to pick up their second straight win when they take on National University, Thursday Afternoon at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field in Ateneo.


The Blue Eagles are coming off an impressive opening weekend drubbing of Adamson University, led by sophomore star striker Jarvey Gayoso, who netted two goals in the 4-0 win, Sunday. 


National U on the other hand, escaped what could have easily been their first loss of the season when they mounted a late-game comeback, courtesy of last minute goals from Patrick Valenzuela and Lawrence Colina. 


The Blue Eagles and Bulldogs battle at 2:00 PM. 


In the second match of the Thursday double-header, defending champions University of the Philippines look to earn their first win of the season when they take on University of the East. 


The Maroons are coming off a tough scoreless draw against De La Salle University on opening day, and are hoping to jumpstart their title defense with by getting their first W. 


Under the guidance of new head coach and forme UE football great Fitch Arboleda, the Red Warriors appeared to be on the way scoring their first win of the season courtesy of early conversions from promising 2nd year man Mar Diano and Bon Opeña, but had to settle for a draw and a single point thanks to NU's late-match heroics. 


The Maroons and Red Warriors go head-to-head at 4:00 PM.
