Bryan Bagunas of National University uncorked 22 points to lead the Bulldogs past Adamson.
National University bounced back from a setback but needed to shake off a sluggish start to repulse the luckless Adamson Falcons Sunday in the 79th UAAP men's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
Bryan Bagunas and Fauzi Ismail powered the Bulldogs to a 24-26, 25-17, 25-23, 28-26 win over the Falcons to return in the win column after dropping a four-set match against archrival Ateneo de Manila last Wednesday.
NU improved to 2-1 win-loss record while handing Adamson its third straight loss in as many outings.
Bagunas hammered 17 kills and landed five aces in his total of 22 points while Ismail exploded for 20 markers after a quiet first two outings for the Bulldogs, who held their ground at the net to score 12 kill blocks with five coming from Kim Malabunga.
Francis Saura scored 12 points while Malabunga had 11 markers for NU.
It was another sorry loss for Adamson after two straight five-set setbacks at the hands of University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University.
Michael Sudaria registered all of his 16 points from attacks, Jerome Sarmiento had 14 while John Yude and Dave Pletado got 13 and 10 markers, respectively, for the San Marcelino-based squad.
NU will face De La Salle next Sunday while Adamson battles Ateneo on Saturday.
