FEU eyes back-to-back wins in showdown with Ateneo
Far Eastern University hopes to start a winning roll in a duel with Ateneo de Manila.

Far Eastern University seeks to start a winning streak while Ateneo de Manila hopes to bounce back from a setback on Sunday when two of the top title contenders clash in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Tamaraws and Lady Eagles are tied at 1-1 win-loss cards behind league-leading defending champion De La Salle University, University of the Philippines and National University, who both parade a spotless 2-0 card.

FEU will enter the match slated at 4:00 p.m. and airing live over ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream carrying the momentum of their 25-12, 25-19, 25-16, whipping of Adamson last Wednesday.

Bernadeth Pons, graduating middle Remy Palma and Toni Basas are expected to lead the march of the Lady Tams, who opened their campaign with a three sets loss to DLSU a week ago.

But the Morayta-based squad is sure to have its hands full facing the Lady Eagles.

Ateneo is coming off a 17-25, 13-25, 25-19, 27-29, defeat at the hands of NU last Wednesday and is looking to get back in the win column.

Third year middle hitter Bea De Leon, who scored 14 points, and veterans Jho Maraguinot and Michelle Morente will spearhead the Lady Eagles’ assault.
