Gorayeb reveals Nabor suffering from

National University coach Roger Gorayeb pulled out his prized setter Jasmine Nabor after the second set of its sweeping win over the Adamson Lady Falcons Sunday.

The Lady Bulldogs' mentor revealed that the sophomore playmaker has a tumor on her left knee and had to sit out the rest of the match because of pain.

“Umiiyak nga si Jas nu’ng nilabas ko kasi masakit daw,” said Gorayeb during the postgame interview of NU’s 25-15, 25-22, 25-19, win over the Lady Falcons that put the Lady Bulldogs on solo lead of the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Nawala na raw yan tapos bumalik,” added Gorayeb, who was surprised and at the same time worried about Nabor’s condition.

Gorayeb pulled Nabor out of the game and fielded Laarnie Aberin in the third set. Still, Nabor had 29 excellent sets in two frames.

Eh may movement dun eh.”

Nabor won’t miss any game, according to Gorayeb.

ABS-CBN Sports caught up with Nabor on her way out of the arena and showed the small bump above her left knee.

The 18-year-old member of the national youth team that saw action in the Asian U-19 competition last year admitted that she kept it a secret to Gorayeb because she was afraid that she might not be allowed to play.

NU will face defending champion De La Salle University next Sunday.
