Gumaganda naman laro namin -- Jema Galanza of Adamson

After ng first two games namin nagiging better (ang laro) namin nitong third game. Siyempre masakit sa amin na natatalo kami pero ang gusto namin habang naglalaro kami pataas kami ng pataas -- Adamson skipper Jema Galanza
Adamson is still in search for its first win after three outings and the Lady Falcons have yet to win a single set this 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.
It’s a disappointing position to be in but team captain Jema Galanza saw the silver lining in their situation. She's keeping her head up.
“Actually para sa aming bagong team, paganda naman na ng paganda ang laro namin,” said the fourth year player shortly after Adamson bowed down to the taller and league-leading National University Lady Bulldogs, 15-25, 22-25, 19-25, Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
“After ng first two games namin nagiging better (ang laro) namin nitong third game. Siyempre masakit sa amin na natatalo kami pero ang gusto namin habang naglalaro kami pataas kami ng pataas,” added Galanza, who top scored for the Lady Falcons with 10 points – all from attacks.
Compared to Adamson’s first two setbacks at the hands of University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University, the Lady Falcons showed grit against the Lady Bulldogs.
In fact, Adamson held the lead in all three sets and even went just three points away winning the second frame with NU experimenting on its rotation and sitting 6-foot-5 Jaja Santiago.
But the young team failed to hold on its 22-20 lead, folding under pressure when NU sent Santiago back to counterattack.
During a timeout, the soft-spoken American mentor Airess Padda was captured on live TV showing how disappointed she was with the team – even telling her players that she won’t hesitate pulling them out of the game.
“Nagagalit siya kasi parang hindi nagagawa ‘yung gusto niya sa loob ng court. Nandoon na kasi yung opportunity namin kanina sa second set kasi wala si Jaja sa loob,” said Galanza. “Kailangan na lang naming angatan ng angatan sila pero wala doon pa kami nawala kung kailan nawala si Jaja. ‘Yun ang kinainisan nya.”
Adamson outgunned the NU, 30-26, but the Lady Falcons gave away 11 service aces and 31 points off their errors to the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Falcons resume action on Saturday against Ateneo de Manila.
