Love and Football: Some of your favorite booters share their Valentine's day plans

Former UAAP MVP Paolo Bugas says passion is a big part of love and football.
It's that time once again.
Love is in the air, hearts are all around, and everyone seems to be just a tad bit cheesier.
It's Valentine's Day, everyone!
Everyone's making plans for the the day of hearts, and that includes some of your favorite UAAP booters, who happily shared what they have planned for Valentine's Day.
Paolo Bugas, FEU Tamaraws
The senior midfielder is back for his final year and is currently leading the Tamaraws to a strong start to Season 79. Aside from that, Bugas is also part of the Global FC team that'll be competing in the AFC Cup this year.
"Yung girlfriend ko kasi, busy siya sa work niya, ganun din ako sa trainings, tsaka next week, mag-tetraining na din ako sa Global kasi malapit na yung AFC Cup, so ayun, depende na lang, baka mag-advanced Valentine's date kami ng girlfriend ko, or siguro baka after na lang ng February 14, depende kung kelan kami free."
For Paolo, love and football is all about PASSION.
"Passion siya, siyempre, kaya kung mahal mo yung ginagawa mo, mahal mo yung taong andyan sa love life mo, siyempre passion na yun, commitment mo na yun eh. Para sa akin, passion na yun."
Jed Diamante, DLSU Green Archers
Aside from putting together a brilliant rookie season, DLSU's Jed Diamante is also consistently hitting goals in his academics. Now a sophomore, Jed shares with us what he's got planned for the day of hearts.
"Well ngayon, naka-focus pa kami sa UAAP. Very supportive naman yung girlfriend ko, she knows na when I have to rest, I have to rest, pero kung may time kami together, we spend quality time naman. Pero if anything comes up on that day, eh di we'll just do anything, it doesn't have to be extraordinary or something really grand, as long as happy kami. We're more of the simple type naman."
For Jed, he says that his love life helps him excel in being an athlete as well as being a Dean's Lister.
"Yung love life, hindi siya dagdag sa mga responsibilites ko, kasi parang more of support yun, more of inspiration siya, hindi siya parang I have to split myself between three things, it's I have to split myself between being an athlete and being a student, tapos yung support niya yung nagbibigay motivation to do well in both."
Jed also gives a sound analogy between love and football:
"Football, we can really relate it to love, because all you want to do is you want to really keep the ball, and as much as possible you won't lose it and you'll really do everything to protect that ball and you'll try your best to score that goal, and in a way, sabihin natin you want to be happy so you'll do everything you can to be happy."
King Miyagi, UP Fighting Maroons
Sophomore King Miyagi has been UP's most consistent scorer this season so far, and he hopes to be able to bring that consistency into his...love life.
"Naghahanap nga ako ng ka-Valentine's Day eh. So kung sinong available diyan! (laughs). I think practice lang ako, wala 'yang Valentine's day na 'yan, waste of time lang yan (laughs). Dapat football lang."
But it seems that King has already found his true love, in the beautiful game.
"Ito yung childhood love ko, I chose football talaga. Girlfriend, wala muna 'yun. (laughs)."
Jarvey Gayoso, Ateneo Blue Eagles
Reigning Best Striker and sophomore sensation Jarvey Gayoso is on track for another impressive season. What does Ateneo's star striker have in store for Valentine's day?
Fun fact: The Ateneo star revealed that his Valentine is actually from the rival school.
"We celebrated my birthday already, I celebrated it with her, and I didn't really want this Valentine's to be big because I can't really stray away from my focus of football, but she'll be in for a surprise."
For Jarvey, love and football is about being the best that you can be.
"I guess you can relate love and football in terms of the passion and devotion you have towards that certain person. It's wanting to be the best that you can be for her, so I guess that's one way you can translate your love for a certain person in terms of football, by just going the extra mile, giving the extra effort, just to be the best."
