Maroons hunt for third win in a row, share of lead
University of the Philippines squares off with De La Salle in its hunt for a share of the lead.

Unbeaten University of the Philippines looks to join Ateneo de Manila University on top of the standings Wednesday when the Fighting Maroons test the mettle of De La Salle University in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The Fighting Maroons are currently at second spot with a 2-0 win-loss card trailing the 3-0 slate of the three-peat seeking Blue Eagles.

The Diliman-based squad defeated listless team in University of the East Red Warriors, 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16, last Saturday and will try to make a repeat against another winless squad in the scheduled 10:00 a.m.

The game will air live over ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A Channel HD 166 and via livestream.              

DLSU dropped its first two outings including a painful, 19-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 12-15, match against the University of Sto. Tomas Tigers last Saturday.

The Green Spikers are tied with UE with 0-2 slate.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are on the hunt for their second win against the Red Warriors at 8:00 a.m.

UST holds a 1-2 card.
