Lady Eagles in the hunt for back-to-back wins
Ateneo de Manila is looking for a fitting follow up to its five-set win over Far Eastern University.

Ateneo de Manila University hunts for the solo third spot when the Lady Eagles take on the challenge of the listless Adamson Lady Falcons Saturday in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Coming off a huge come-from-behind five-set win over Far Eastern University, the Lady Eagles have the momentum against the winless Lady Falcons in their 4:00 p.m. match.

The game will air live over ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 23 and via livestream.

Ateneo banked on its veterans Michelle Morente, Jho Maraguinot, Bea De Leon and setter Jia Morado to outlast the Lady Tamaraws, 25-19, 24-26, 19-25, 25-16, 15-11, last Sunday for 2-1 win-loss record to share the third to fourth spots with archrival De La Salle University.

The team pulled off the big win despite playing without head coach Tai Bundit and Morado nursing stomach pain. Bundit went back to Thailand for the funeral of his mother-in-law.

They will face a very young Adamson squad that is struggling to get its game going.

Fielding mostly an inexperienced crew, American coach Airess Padda has yet to win her first game in the league. The Lady Falcons lost all of its first three games in straight sets.

Adamson, which is coming off a 15-25, 22-25, 19-25, whipping at the hands of National University, is tied with University of the East down the cellar.
