Tigers, Maroons clash for share of second

University of the Philippines looks to bounce back from its previous setback.
University of Sto. Tomas goes on a prowl for its second straight win Sunday in a duel with the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
Opening serve is at 8:00 a.m. before the National University Bulldogs and De La Salle University Green Spikers showdown at 10:00 a.m. that will air live over ABS-CBN S+A and via livestream.
The Tigers, Maroons and Bulldogs are in a three-way logjam at third to fourth with 2-1 win-loss records. Far Eastern University is at solo second with a 3-1 mark behind the 4-0 Ateneo de Manila
UST is riding the crest of its two-game winning streak including a 28-26, 19-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-7 victory over the listless University of the East last Wednesday.
UP, on the other hand, got its two-game winning run snapped by DLSU, 23-25, 19-25, 21-25, four days ago.
Meanwhile, NU bounced back from a four-set loss to unbeaten and three-peat seeking Ateneo de Manila with a 24-26, 25-17, 25-23, 28-26, win over Adamson a week ago.
The Bulldogs will face a team eager for a follow up to its first win of the season.
The Green Spikers are at sixth place with a 1-2 slate.
